Class Information

Class Placement

Class placement is at the teachers discretion.  Any dancer may be asked to move to a different class at any time during the year.  Especially during the first few weeks of the first Semester.

Students are placed based on age, technical ability and individual potential.

Unless certain circumstances arise, all classes will contain a maximum of 8 students.  During the first weeks of classes, several classes may be very full and we will split those accordingly.  If classes cannot be split in the schedule, than a maximum of 12 students will be allowed in each class.  Please allow us the first few weeks to get everyone situated properly.

Anyone wishing to compete with a solo or duet/trio is required to take 3 classes per week, one of which must be ballet.

Class Attire

Clothing:

Any form of a solid colored leotard is acceptable for all classes.  No sequins, glitter, rhinestones, graffiti of any type, or recital type costumes are acceptable.

Ballet classes are required to wear pink tights with seams.  All other classes need to wear pink, black or suntan tights.  Please make sure all tights are convertible.  We have nice floors now, so tights with large tears and holes in them will not be acceptable attire.

Ballet skirts are acceptable as long as they are above the knee.

Boy shorts are acceptable as long as they are black.

Jazz pants and boy shorts are acceptable for jazz, modern, hip hop, lyrical or tap.

Hair must be in a bun for ballet.  Dancers may wear a pony tail, braids or any other pulled back fashion for other classes.  Loose hairs are not permitted.  The instructor may ask dancers not to return to class if they do not follow through with this policy as other dancers do take notice and point out that they should get away with it too.

Shoes:

Ballet - Pink ballet shoes.  Leather is preferred but canvas is acceptable.

Pointe Shoes - Tricia must accompany you to all fittings unless she specifies otherwise.

Jazz Shoes - Black, Split Sole, No laces.

Tap Shoes - Black, Lace up Oxfords.  Patent leather for ages 3 to 6.  Non patent leather for 7 & up.

Hip Hop - Tennis shoes that fit properly and have a supportive arch.  Must lace up.  Please do not wear slip-ons.

Lyrical and Modern:  Dancers will be asked to dance barefoot.
